London-based embargo raises $ 1.1 million for its digital loyalty cards

Based in london Embargo is a loyalty platform and CRM system for hospitality businesses such as restaurants, bars and cafes that recognize and reward customers using its pioneering technology. Now the company has just raised $ 1.1million (nearly £ 830,000) in a fundraiser.

Investors galore

Embargo has received cross-sector financial support, with individuals and businesses in the hospitality, real estate and sports sectors. Notable people who have invested in the company include Nick Telson, renowned angel investor and founder of DesignMyNight; founder of Lean Kitchen Networks, supported by ASDA, Faraz Nagree; serial restorer Loui Blake; and the founders of HEX Digital.

Currently, Embargo is actively operating in the UK and Poland and has a presence in countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Serbia. It plans to step up its international operations in the coming months.

Commenting on his investment in Embargo, Nagree said, “I loved the unique concept, the team, the user traction and the way users respond with high engagement. Loyalty is all about executing flawlessly and creating a solution that customers love. The embargo is the one who is right. We have scoured the market and couldn’t find a better and simpler loyalty solution, which is why investing in the company was an easy decision ”.

Embargo Co-Founder and CEO Tsewang Wangkang said, “The success of our last round of funding, coupled with the strength of the cross-sector support we have received, marks another exciting milestone for the company. Indeed, we now have the resources to expand our operations with confidence, across the UK and beyond. As the hospitality industry begins to recover from the pandemic, there is a growing demand for digital solutions to help cafes and restaurants identify and reward loyal customers. Actively managing the customer means actively managing the business. As a result, Embargo has seen an increase in the number of customers, including many bright brands. “

Customer loyalty app

Founded in 2017 by Tsewang Wangkang and Frederick Szydlowski, Embargo offers a loyalty app for consumers where they can collect loyalty stamps at their favorite restaurants, cafes and bars. It offers a contactless and paperless customer journey, making it easy to be rewarded for frequent visits and purchases. However, Embargo’s centerpiece is its plug & play CRM system, which provides hospitality businesses with valuable information about their customers. Hotel companies can quantify their loyal clientele, communicate with them and react if regulars stop coming.
