Oak Ridge’s 40th Annual Halloween Party Set for Oct. 27

The Oak Ridge Parks and Recreation Department will host the 2022 Children’s Halloween Party at AK Bissell Park on Thursday, October 27 from 6-8 p.m.

Activities will be planned throughout AK Bissell Park, including a wagon ride, weather permitting. Hundreds of children and their parents are expected, according to city government information.

Businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor a booth, provide volunteers and distribute candy. Cabins must be age appropriate for children 4-4th grade. Requests can be picked up at the Civic Center reception.

Additional adult volunteers are needed to help with other activities. Those interested in working at the event should call the Civic Center at (865) 425-3450. On the night of the event, volunteers should arrive at the Civic Center by 5:30 p.m. and plan to stay until 9 p.m. The first 50 volunteers to register will receive an event t-shirt. A pizza snack will be served to all volunteers immediately following the event.

Parking will be in the east (civic center side) and west (library side) parking lots. The parking lot on the east side will be filled first. Traffic on the Civic Center frontage road will travel in an outbound direction on Oak Ridge Turnpike from the west parking area (library side).
