Walk of the day
Tottenham are officially in the Conference League group stage, which will at the very least be a fun exploration in stadiums across Europe. The venue for the Conference League final, the Air Albania Stadium in Tirana, is a perfect fit.
It’s really beautiful on the outside, and I like to entertain the idea that I will one day be able to look at this design up close. Once I dealt with the beauty of the outside, I had to move on to the tower sticking out like a sore thumb. This is part of a project to make the stadium a multi-purpose venue. It’s from IR, the real estate manager of the center:
The Arena center is designed to include a 5-star hotel (tower), a shopping area, an office area and underground floors used as parking, representing a total gross area of ââ54,000 m².
A unique space that will radically change consumption patterns.
Chains of branded stores, restaurants and cafes, offices, hotels and entertainment areas for all members of the family, ensuring a comfortable, pleasant and safe visit of all spaces to its visitors.
This way people can easily and efficiently choose what they are looking for.
FASHION – FOOD – BUSINESS – LEISURE – SPORTS – FUN
âAll under one roof! “
It’s a very versatile place that seems very well suited for a quick trip to Tirana to watch – or play – soccer. (I know very little Tirana so I couldn’t tell you if this would make a nice place to stay if you are staying in Tirana for more than a day.) The aforementioned hotel is a Marriott International scheduled to open in the fall. (Someone is letting me know if there are any pictures showing up for you on this page because they haven’t been for me.)
The other real point of interest is the shopping area, which promises a lot of different services. A quick glance at the Arena Center Instagram shows many different types of restaurants, probably somewhat local brands that I haven’t heard of, but made a pretty good social media show. to make me curious. I couldn’t tell you if there is a lot of variety on the menus, but like I said, I’m quite curious.
When it comes to shopping options, it looks like it has the kind of variety one would expect from a high-end mall. It doesn’t have the most upscale premium brands out there, but from my quick glance on their Instagram, they definitely have some tasteful clothes. The Instagram account, however, focuses more on food than shopping.
While working on this Hoddle, I realized that the Arena Center sort of had a competitor – the Stadion Shopping Center in Belgrade, which is located under the Voždovac stadium. I remember looking at it once and finding it to be the most average mall. (I feel like I wrote about it once in a Hoddle, but I can’t find it again.) I don’t know how to rank it relative to the Arena Center, because I don’t know if it’s an empty attempt at something that might be reasonable. It’s just crazy that there is more than one mall attached to a stadium, however.
tl; dr: The stadium that hosts the Conference League final is quite an experience.
