Watermark Lodging Trust Brings Changes to Senior Management

Watermark Lodging Trust Inc., an unlisted real estate investment trust (REIT), has made a series of changes to its management team, including the promotions of Samuel Zinsmaster, Brendan Medzigian and Matthew Miller.

Zinsmaster was promoted to COO, following his accomplishments as Head of Asset Management and previously Head of Portfolio Management for Watermark. A nine-year veteran of the company, he has helped oversee all functions related to asset and portfolio management and, under his leadership, the Watermark portfolio has been recognized for its quality and peak performance, according to the company. . In his new role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the company.

Medzigian has been appointed Chief Investment Officer, following his leadership and contributions as Head of Transactions and previously Head of Capital Markets for Watermark. Since joining the company in 2017, he has been a driving force behind its successful corporate and asset-level transactions, including M&A activity, investments, financings and divestitures, reports the society. In his new role, he will continue to oversee Watermark’s capital and transaction activities as well as strategic balance sheet initiatives.

Miller, who has worked at Watermark for over nine years and has served as Vice President / Controller since 2017, has been promoted to Chief Accounting Officer. As Controller, he led the coordination and preparation of the company’s publicly filed financial statements, including the development of its accounting processes and controls. In his new role, he will oversee all accounting functions, as well as tax and treasury activities.

In addition to these promotions, which will take effect on January 1, Watermark’s current CFO, Mallika Sinha, will be leaving the company in January to accept a new opportunity.
